SIMPLIFY!!

In their book Simple Church, Thom Rainer and Eric Geiger propose a not so new process for discipleship in the local church. Their remedy for the maladies of the local church? Simplify, stop doing so much! They write:

Many of our churches have become cluttered. S0 cluttered that people have a difficult time encountering the simple and powerful message of Christ. So cluttered that many people are busy doing church instead of being the church.

and...
Perhaps we are losing ground not despite our overabundance of activity but because of it.
Simple Church is a profound book that establishes as statistical fact many of the beliefs that leaders have held about the local church in recent years. The simple truth? Simple churches are vital and growing churches while complicated and unfocused churches are dying. I strongly recommend this quick read to all pastors and church leaders, and anyone who desires to see the Kingdom of God and their local church grow.
